Blair

Stop it.

x!

Suzi: Too much too soon?

Rumours have it that Suzi, the chienne terrible of Horseshoe Bend, has let stardom get to her:

Her spokesman, who wished not to be named, insisted she was simply experiencing exhaustion.

Spooky movie business

Beetlejuice was one of my favourite movies as a teenager.
Winona Ryder absolutely set the tone for Heathers.

Anyway, I just bought it recently and I'd totally forgotten this:

And the couple's surname is Maitland.

Sheesh.

Just you wait

It's going to be spectacular:

Targets on board

The car park at the local shopping centre is never less than bustling. Overflowing, you might say, if body-mass index were included in the equation.

Now, imagine dealing with two-thirds of the cars being ludicrously oversized suburban assault vehicles (over and around which it's impossible to see anything) driven by sturdy mums with little, if any, peripheral vision or vehicular aptitude, and then consider being confronted by smug little decals about their precious inhabitants:

How many points is that?

Showbiz

I see the kids coming in for auditions and I wonder...
They're just so prepared, the parents are soooo eager.
Honestly, I worry...

Goats: Cute

There's a new neighbour, where little Biscuit and Buddy used to live before they moved next door and then left...
without even saying goodbye.
Anyway, now there's Billy.
If you click and zoom on that photo you'll see he's already wondering what the fuck we want:

And then:

Always with the eyes on the camera...

What did Mick buy this time?

Stay tuned.

Bright young things

Move over Drip and Smell.

A recent trip to the High Street mall revealed the emergence of a new artistic force in Maitland.
A few, actually.

First, we have Blayne:

At least I think it says Blayne, which I can only presume is a pseudonym.
Surely he wouldn't use his actual name?
And if it is a tag, does he realise he's named himself after Kurt's boyfriend on Glee??

Next we have Starzy:

Now, I imagine this is not an allusion to the German Ministry for State Security, although did you notice the rather feeble attempt at a swastika on the skull to the right?
Bless.
No, I think Starzy, along with Scents and Feats there, just wants to make a name for himself. To wit, this new masterwork at Smyth Field:

I just hope that's not an upstart rival. Hate to have a misspelt graffiti war on our hands.

Warning!

If you ask me, there aren't enough cautionary forewords in movies today.
Admittedly, given you've already bought your ticket, said warning is kind of useless, but it would still be good to know that "the following movie contains 89 minutes of Jennifer Aniston removing her fringe from her eyes as she struggles to tell her leading man exactly how she feels about him." Wouldn't it?

Here are a few forewords I've photographed recently. Can you guess which films?
(A quiz!)

(Elmer Gantry; Glen or Glenda?; The Mask of Zorro; The Last Days of Pompeii)

Saturday afternoon fever

Saw this on World of Wonder. Fierce frontmen, sounds a bit like early Prince.
Fantastic.

Mystery plant

At the side of the house, we have an area of garden we refer to as the 'naughty corner', reserved for plants that have refused to thrive in their previous position (and which Mick cannot bear to throw in the compost).

They often spring back to life, perversely enough, and this one has me baffled:

I've never seen anything quite like it. Pretty!

Fun with panel-beating

On High Street, Maitland:

Moods of Suzi

We've only had her for about a month, but Suzi has already displayed the many shades of her personality.

Still not worth it

A far-from-appealing offer found on a walk with Suzi the other day:

Must send it immediately to Norm's Free Signs.
